Who we are
This website, learngambianmandinka.com (“we”, “us”), is run by Lamin Ceesay, publisher of the Learn Gambian Mandinka series. You can reach us anytime at info@learngambianmandinka.com. [ Add postal/business address here if required in your country. ]
What we collect
- Newsletter: if you sign up, the email address (and any name) you give us.
- Usage data: anonymous, aggregated statistics about how the site is used (pages visited, device type), to improve it.
- Messages: anything you send us by email.
- Purchases: when you buy a product, payment and order details are handled by our sellers (Gumroad and Amazon). We never see or store your card details.
Why we use it (legal basis)
To send you the newsletter you asked for (consent); to run and improve the site (legitimate interest); and to deliver and support what you buy (contract). You can withdraw consent at any time — every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. We use trusted services to run the site, and your data is processed by them only to provide those services:
- Our signup form/email service — to receive and store newsletter sign-ups (for example, a form provider such as Formspree, or a form within our website). We use this only to send you the updates you asked for.
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics. [ Remove this line if you don’t use analytics. ]
- Gumroad and Amazon — to process digital and print purchases.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Essential cookies make the site work; analytics cookies (if enabled) help us understand usage. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you can ask us to show, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Email info@learngambianmandinka.com and we’ll act promptly. If you’re in the EU/UK and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Keeping your data
We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and order-related emails for as long as needed to meet our record-keeping and tax obligations.
Children
Our books are made for children, but they are bought and managed by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
